Essential Tips Disposable BBQ Cookout
Not so many moons ago I wrote an article titled "How to perfect barbecue" in which lashed most of my friends for burning food on the barbecue and shared my essential tips to ensure a perfect roast every time. Another way say is "How to BBQ without flames" because the secret to charcoal cooking (and indeed gas barbecue) is fantastic and no flames.
The fat in the food moves in the heat, drips onto the coal that generates the smoke to flavor the food. We want to hear the sizzle, but no flames because flames will char the outside of the food that leaves us at best to eat something raw and semi at worst in bed with food poisoning. Easy, no?
Well, it's pretty easy if you have a height-adjustable grill rack but if you are the real outdoors type light traveling you may well have a disposable BBQ tray of charcoal. If you are not familiar with the barbecue grill is essentially a disposable foil pan full of charcoal lump sum and a mesh cover light. At the top of the charcoal is a fuel impregnated cloth that once lit is all it takes to get the grill going so they are ideal when light traveling or cooking at the same time on a picnic. One thing is clear and that if there is no height adjustment of the grid and that means being careful not to burn the food, More on that in a minute.
The main advantages of this equipment is that it is lightweight and portable, it is very quick to get going and also very cheap so for a few dollars more you can actually add a new dimension to the picnic. Having recommended trying one of these trays I think it's important also point out the disadvantages of cooking them so here are my essential tips for cooking on a disposable barbecue grill: –
1. Sometimes the lighting can fail mat so that it satisfies your hunger is completely dependent on the kitchen then think about taking a firelighter as a backup – and not forget the matches!
2. Choice of food to cook is really important because there is no flexibility with the heat and does not last forever. Due to the lack of flexibility to avoid fatty foods such as sausages because these simply spray grease on the coals and cause flare ups. As I said, the flames burn food but not only that, the flames wasted energy and coal will not last forever. Try the fish fillets and other cuts of lean meat.
3. It is not an expensive piece of kit so do not expect a grid of enamel. The best advice I can give is to brush the grill with oil before putting any food in it and this prevent sticking, especially if you cook fish.
One last point, as they say, "disposable" so if you just finished your meal outside, please care for their environment and dispose of the remains in a responsible manner.
