inexpensize wall covering ideas?
Help me please with the upstairs of the house I just bought. It’s circa 1900 cape cod style, the upstairs has never been remodeled. Old crappy wallpaper is tacked over paneling, and I have no clue what is underneath until I start peeling back the layers. The two bedrooms are tiny, with sloping walls to a peak in the ceiling, and about a 3 ft. knee wall. I need one room to be for our visiting aprez-teens, and one to be a closet/sewing/ironing room. I want to do something VERY inexpensively to cover the crappy walls. Do I just start peeling back the wallpaper, and hope for the best? I’m thinking of maybe getting lots of sheets and making a “shirred type” wall covering….could be forgiving of the flaws in the walls. ANY IDEAS?
You can laugh but this dose look cool and it really works! I saved up all my brown paper grocery bags tore them up and purchased wall paper paste! Then i applied them to the walls w/ the paste …its great! No pattern needed and it makes my walls look like leather! You can paint the walls too after if you want a hint of color!
