How to bind documents with plastic comb binding

Almost every week I receive a phone call or an e-mail from a someone asked me to describe to them how to use the machine with a comb binding. Comb binding has been the most popular model of association for decades and there are literally millions of comb binding machine used around the world. However, if you have never used a comb binding machine This may seem a little intimidating. These instructions are designed to help even the most inexperienced users is on the way to bind documents with combs plastic. Here are five simple steps …

1. The first step in binding documents using plastic comb binding is prepare your document. If you use a link on the front cover and back of your document, you must mount it with blankets. You will find that your punch will be more effective if you break the cover in the book instead of by themselves (if you are using oversize covers you will need to punch themselves because they are not the same size as the pages of your document). After assembling your document, you must measure your book so you can choose the correct size of comb binder for your presentation. To choose the right size of binding comb only to measure the thickness of material (do not compress the pages) and add 1 / 8 "To allow your pages to move freely.

2. The second stage of binding documents with plastic combs is to set up your punch binding. Setting up your punch is really not difficult. 3. After your machine is configured, you are ready to stamp your document. For best results, it is important that you separate your books into small sections or lifts. To prolong the life of your punch, you should not try to punch capacity maximum punch at each elevator. By punching small elevators you can avoid jams and increase your productivity. As you punch the sections your document simply stack beside the punch so they are ready to have plastic combs added. It is often useful to compensate the stack of documents to make them easier to pick up during when you insert the pages on the comb. If your binding covers are oversized, you should punch separate document. However, it is important to remember not to drill two more plastic or poly covers by elevator or you may damage your punch.

4. After all the punching is done, you're finally ready to add the plastic combs and finish your books. Put the spines on books is really not difficult. First, take the comb from the box and place it on the opening of a comb (metal teeth that stick along the top the back of the machine).
